Dear Islanders,

With the final results in from Kitsap County it looks like we can officially say that we've won our race! It was an amazing journey and I am so grateful to all of the supporters, friends, and most importantly my family for their love.

Now the hard work begins and my commitment to working with the community on affordability, fiscal responsibility, and transparency begins. Please keep watching our website and Facebook pages as I will be looking to hold a handful of listening sessions in November and December before taking office in the New Year.

Thank you all once again for your support!

Desire for change was crucial in Bainbridge South Ward council race

Someone new was needed.
That was the big reason behind Matthew Tirman’s election to the Bainbridge Island City Council, the candidate said, after the results of the first vote tally had sunk in.
Tirman is on his way to a council seat after pulling in 58.6 percent of the vote over fellow candidate Theodore “Ted” Jones, who earned 41.2 percent.

Contrasts apparent in race for council’s South Ward seat

The voice of experience, versus the voice of youth. Longtime area resident against new arrival. Engineer versus executive tech guy.
That’s the contrast in the race for the South Ward, District 3 seat on the Bainbridge Island City Council.
Two newcomers to elected office, Theodore “Ted” Jones and Matthew Tirman, are running to fill the seat now held by incumbent Roger Townsend.
